This baby, Sophie, was just 7 months old when her owner contacted an Irish Red Setter breeder to use one of her stud dogs on her!! Luckily this set alarm bells ringing and after much wrangling this kind lady managed to purchase her and most likely saved her from a life of churning out one litter after another.
If Sophie had been a lot more like her reds she would have had a permanent, happy home but Sophie was very much a red and white! She proved to be quite a handful and much more adventurous than her red cousins and as there was a wall with a very big drop the other side that Sophie was determined to go over, it was felt in the interests of her safety, that a new home should be found.
A lovely home came along for her where she would have a big, safe garden to play in and lots of lovely walks by the canal and a bit later she had a new red friend to play with, they are the best of pals.
Her new family love her to bits and said that Sophie is everybody's friend, so affectionate and full of energy. She is a real clown, just a big pup. What a different life she would have had if not for the quick thinking of the very kind Red Setter breeder.
